Cecilia Williams

Cecilia R. Williams left this life to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 12, 2022, at home with family after a brief illness. She was an indescribably loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her final breath. Wife of the late Frank Williams she was also preceded in death by her parents, Alvis R. and Arletta Scott Ross, and brothers Norman, Alvis Jr. and Bruce. Cecilia lived a full multifaceted life. She was a naturally gifted singer, phenomenal seamstress, dedicated friend, licensed beautician, original fashionista, consummate caregiver, extremely perceptive, insightful and intelligent. Always engaged in a project it was not uncommon to find her trimming the hedges or planting a scrub, tinkering with a hymn on the piano, making new kitchen curtains or finding the next great deal at a thrift store. An exemplary soprano, Cecilia performed and recorded in various choirs and ensembles most notably the Sounds of Heritage and her heart, the Swan Chorale, where she was an original member. A season ticket holding no-nonsense Steelers fan from the seventies Cecilia attended each of the team’s first four Super Bowl games with husband, Frank and cruised with the team later in life. Without question Cecilia loved the Lord and lived out that life of faith as a member of Warren United Methodist Church from the age of five. She served in numerous capacities: church secretary, financial secretary, chair of administrative council, altar guild president, chair spprc, church treasurer and of course chancel choir member and president. A caregiver to many Cecilia is survived by her daughters, Arletta and Lisa, grandson, Tyler, sister-in-laws, Lois Hord (Phoenix) and Lois Ross (Detroit), dearest friends, Rose Williams, Armetta Swan, Gloria Barber, Gloria Burns and fur grandbaby, Laila Pincsky.
