Leslie A. Bennett
Angels visited Leslie Allen Bennett to request his presence to be with his Heavenly Father at his mansion in the sky. Leslie Bennett, age 76 of Penn Hills formerly of Morgan,PA, passed onto enteral life surrounded by his loving family April 21st, 2023. He was the son of the late Ida Bennett and Frank Underwood. Leslie was an alumnus of Cannon McMillan and graduated June 1963. Shortly after graduating Leslie, he went to serve his country in October of 1966. After serving in the military Leslie returned home and began to attend California University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree. After graduating he work at the United States Post office and worked his way up from mail handler to liaison of affairs between USPS and United Way where he retired from. He was preceded in death by his mother Ida Bennett and father Frank Underwood. Leslie is survived by wife Darla Hunt Bennett. He is also survived by his siblings: Terry Bennett, Jacqueline Simms, Constance Bennett, and Stephanie Bennett.
Leslie was a kind and loving person who dedicated his life to his wife. When he spoke about his “Angel” he always beamed with pride. His wife children the Lord guided his life to the very end. He loved his music all genres from jazz to gospel. He looked forward to listening to Reverend Dr.William H. Curtis every Saturday night. Leslie was always a bright light in the room. He always tried to bring us all together.
Leslie was also so very proud of his children Brian Everett (Santanna) and Ebony Turner as well as his many grandchildren, great nieces, and nephews He beamed with joy every time he was around them. He never forgets a birthday or holiday as he tried to share his love with everyone. Leslie was the kind of person the more you were around him the more you came to love him. Leslie would do anything to help anyone out at the drop of a hat.
Grandchildren: Brian Everett Jr., Bryson Everett, Jai’anna Mahoney, Jerry Mahoney
Nieces and Nephews: Chris Bennett, Adrian Tiller, LaShonda Hudson, Tanoya Lemon-Bennett, Ivory Bennett, Fred Simms, and Ebony Turner.
Leslie, we will miss you badly. We had the greatest joy of having you in our lives. We will mourn the loss of your life but will rejoice when we meet you on the other side.
Friends received Sunday April 30, 2023, 2pm to 6 pm at Rose Funeral Home & Cremation Services, funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11am at Mt Ararat Baptist Church, 271 Paulson Ave Pgh PA 15206
