| Shirley E Coleman passed away peacefully Monday, September 9, 2019 in Pittsburgh, PA while at home. Shirley was born February 2, 1949 in Baltimore, MD. The daughter of Festus and Corrine Weeks. Shirley graduated from George Westinghouse High School in 1967 then worked as an Executive Secretary at Alcoa for over three decades. Shirley was a devoted Christian, Mother and friend. She enjoyed traveling, meeting new people and spending time with her family. Shirley was an excellent communicator, a problem solver and was a joy to be around. Shirley will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Proceeded in death by brother Thomas L. Weeks. She leaves to mourn her Husband Lawrence Coleman, daughter Andrea Weeks, step children Catherine, Laurie and Lafayette. Sister Catherine Payne, brother Leroy Fears, two grand children Andrae and Jaimee, three step grand children Erica, Elisha, Eli and a host of other relatives. |
JoAnn D. Jones
Of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She is the daughter of the late Eugene and Marian Douglas. JoAnn is survived by a host of loving family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at ROSE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES.
Kenneth Yuille
Age 102, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 10, 2019; beloved husband of the late Edwina (Barclay) Yuille; devoted father of Lena “Judy” Wykrent, Eleanor Ann Tidline, Theda Janet Charles, Howard Yuille, and the late Kenneth E. Yuille and Edwin Yuille. Kenneth is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends. He was a wonderful father and will be sadly missed by his loving family. Friends received Sunday 4-8 at ROSE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES. Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Rodman’s Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Velma Hawkins-Miller

Velma Mae Hawkins-Miller was born to Russell E. and Mary M. Townes on November 3, 1936 in Gilliam, West Virginia, and departed this life to join her Heavenly Father on August 5, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell E. and Mary M. Townes, grandparents, Joseph and Rosa Bolden and Walter and Frances Townes, sister, Mary C. Bolden and brother, Billy Townes.
Velma grew up in Gilliam, West Virginia. She graduated from Elkhorn High School in Elkhorn, West Virginia in 1953. She was a member of Elkhorn High School Marching Band. Following graduation, she moved to Pittsburgh, PA. She worked at Westinghouse for many years prior to working for and retiring from the United States Postal Service in 2000.
She accepted Christ at an early age while attending Ebenzer Baptist Church in Algoma,
West Virginia. After moving to Pittsburgh, PA, she was a member of Nazarene Baptist Church for over 57 years prior to joining Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her life: husband Odell K. Miller, Sr. of Verona, PA, sons Bruce (Kathleen) Hawkins of Cummings, Georgia and Brian Hawkins of San Antonio, Texas, daughter, Sheila (Jeffrey) Bucklew of Austin, TX, and granddaughter, Chelsea Bucklew of Austin, TX; step-son, Odell (Deborah) Miller, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, and step-grandchildren Maurice, Odell III and Jeffrey Miller of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Harold (Trichita) Townes of Gahanna, OH, sisters, Rosetta (O.D.) St. Clair and Deloris Thomas of Columbus, OH, Deanna (Walter) Monroe of Pickerington, OH, Cathy Townes of Santa FE, NM,
Glenda Harrison of Columbus, OH, Karen (George) Schwarz of Florence, KY, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

John Mullett
On August 3, 2019, John M. Mullett of Washington, PA entered into eternal rest. After graduating from West Virginia, Wesleyan College, Mr. Mullett held numerous sales positions with Phillip Morris USA. During his career, he was responsible for the sales of products in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, N. Dakota and S. Dakota. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for the Sales and Marketing Executive Association and the American Manufacturers Association. A memorial service will be held at the Homewood Cemetery Chapel, 1599 S. Dallas Ave., in Pittsburgh on Saturday, August 10th at 11 a.m.
