Sylvia A Hall

Sylvia Ann Corbin Hall passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, at her home in Wilkinsburg Pennsylvania. Sylvia was born December 31, 1935, to John Taylor and Della Margaret Corbin. She was raised with her brother, Vernon Corbin, in Lincoln Park Penn Hills. After graduating from Penn Hills High School, she married the love of her life, Charles Peter Hall Jr.
During the 1970’s she worked for the Penn Hills school district as a school community liaison to resolve racial tensions.
At the age of 45, having raised eight children, she decided to go to Connelly Nursing School to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She started her nursing career in the Pittsburgh hospitals, moved to Highland Park Center for Disabled Adults, and finished out her nursing career with private duty.
Sylvia loved people and wanted to see them come to know Jesus. She served in many capacities in her community, schools, and church, serving and those who were in need. From caring for a teen mother’s baby so she could finish high school to ministering to families and individuals who were diagnosed with life threatening conditions, she loved people.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one of her sons. She is survived by her sister and brothers, her six sons and one daughter, her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 10:30am at Covenant Church Pittsburgh, 2110 Andrews Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15221. Obituary to follow
