Marilyn Williamson

Peacefully on February 16, 2024, Marilyn Williamson transitioned from this earthly realm to join our heavenly Father. She was born February 13, 1936, to the late Henry and Alieen Wright. She was the youngest of eleven children. As a graduate of Greenville High School, Marilyn went on to become a well-known cook and worked at various establishments in Pittsburgh. Marilyn also worked as a nurse’s aide at the VA Hospital for a number of years. She married Bedford Williamson in 1954.
Marilyn had a fondness for cats and was a collector of all types of bears and cookbooks. Her hobbies were knitting, quilting, and plants, she loved all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved having everyone over for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. It brought her immense joy to cook for family and watching everyone enjoy what she had prepared.
Marilyn is survived by one sister Grace Wright of Pittsburgh, Children Sherri Akitoye, Robert (Lynette) Williamson, Michelle Williamson, Mark Williamson and Theresa (Lamont) Ford, sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bedford Williamson Jr., her daughter Theresa Williamson, her son Bedford Williamson III, Five sisters, Lucille Ray, Barbara Ousley, Jacquelyn Wright, Florence King and Cella Wright. Four brothers Alan Wright, Owen Joseph Wright and Donald Wright.
