Kathryn Ruth Daniels Finley, 75, of Penn Hills, PA, passed away at home in the company of her daughter, Colleen, and husband, Glenn (Paul).
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to her mother, Ruth Neudorfer Daniels, and father, William T. Daniels, who both preceded her in death. She was also tragically preceded in death by her beloved son, Patrick G. Finley, when he was only 22 years old.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Paul Glenn Finley, Jr, her daughter, Colleen M. Finley, and granddaughter, Mya A. Finley, who was affectionately nicknamed “Pie” by Kathy when she was little. (Sweetie Pie or Turd Pie depending on how she was acting). Kathy is also survived by her two brothers, Steve Daniels and Bill Daniels, and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was an avid gardener who was very proud of her award winning Irises, a lover of all things nature, and was a guardian and caregiver to countless animals, both domestic and wild. Her quick wit, sarcastic comments, and great sense of humor were always sure to bring smiles and laughter to those around her, even on the bad days. When she wasn’t taking care of things at home, she was busy managing Puffs Discount Tobacco and later a Get Go gas station, both in Penn Hills. She took great pride in both her paid work and her work at home.
Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandma (Gumball) who gave her all to her family. Even on her worst days she still made sure everyone else was ok.
We take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and has been reunited with her son and parents. We will all miss her dearly until we see each other again…
