Of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Thursday, June 18, 2020. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 29, 1929. She worked for the Carnegie Mellon Food Service Department for more than 25 years. After retirement, Dorothy enjoyed cooking, doing crossword puzzles, listening to music and traveling to visit family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth E. Grimmett; parents, Elizabeth and Major Greene; brothers, Zylphus, Joe, Fred and John. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sister, Marlyn (Greene) Owens,; eldest son, Daryl (Pam) Grimmett; daughters, Darlene Brock, and Kim (Jeff) Dawson, and youngest son, Kenneth E Grimmett, Jr. (Trina) along with thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Viewing and Funeral Service entrusted by ROSE FUNERAL HOME (10940 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, PA 15235) will be private. A Public interment (committal service) will be held at the Allegheny Cemetery Chapel of the Angels Mausoleum on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 12:30 p.m. followed with a Repast Luncheon at The Rolling Hills Baptist Church, 120 Gernert Drive Verona, PA 15147.
