Mabel V. Sumter Davis, age 87, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Devoted mother of Harry A (Rosalind) Davis, Sr. of Penn Hills, PA, Sharon M. Davis (Timothy) Bradford of Hopkins, SC, Cheryl V. Davis of Duluth, GA and Deborah Y. Davis of Verona, PA; grandmother to 9; great-grandmother to 21 and great great grandmother to 25. Mabel is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, family and friends. Preceded in death by her beloved husband: Dr. Harry Davis: parents, Mott and Anne Louise Sumter: Sister, Ella Sumter Jeffrey. Friends received Monday, January 12, 2026 9am til time of service at 11am at Shiloh Community Missionary Baptist Church, 6940 Frankstown Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208. I thank God that I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Davis. Like the pastor stated, “it’s hard to meet genuine people these days.” She was definitely a rare gem.
