We come together today to celebrate the life and legacy of Sharon Washington. Sharon lived a beautiful life born in Pittsburgh to parents Sonia and Albenous Allen on March 25th, 1953. Part of her childhood was spent in Coatesville, PA with her Godparents Walter and Annie Shelton. Sharon spent the majority of her life living in Penn Hills area and transitioned home with God in the early morning hours on Saturday, August 19th, 2023. Sharon’s purpose and life was driven by her love for family. She was one of five children, Eric, Albenous Jr., Arn and Lisa. Sharon met the love of her life Raymond Washington in 1973 and they married on May 12th, 1982. Raymond and Sharon spent 50 years together and where married for 41 of those years, in a union full of love, support and happiness. Sharon’s legacy is carried on in her pride and joy, her children. Sharon’s oldest and first born is her daughter Janet, her second being John, followed by the births of Sonia, Lamont, Martell Michael, Anthony and Jaynelle. Throughout her life Sharon accomplished many remarkable things, she excelled in her career as a Medical Secretary, leaving a lasting impact on her field and inspiring others with her dedication and expertise. Sharon was known for her exceptional work ethic, creative thinking and problem solving skills. Beyond her professional achievements, she was the glue that kept the family together from home cooked meals in the kitchen, to getting through tough times in the living room. Lovingly called “Nana and Mommy” to those closet to her, she lived a life full of love, joy and surrounded by support. Although, those closest to her wore thick skin because Sharon was a straight shooter. She simply told it like it is. Sharon was blessed with a beautiful big family who cherished her dearly. Her love for family was and is undeniable. She captured everyone in her presence with her inviting smile and infectious laugh. Friends and colleagues became family. Sharon spent her days crocheting beautiful items, baking the best pounds cakes, watching her stories, and talking on the phone with family. Sharon lived a full life, leaving and imprint on all the hearts she impacted. Sharon leaves to cherish her memories her husband Raymond Washington, as well as her children their spouses, 31 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Sonia and Calvin Nolen, Lamont and Jill Smith, John Smith, Anthony Washington and Fatima Washington, Michael Washington, Martell smith and Janet. Friends received Monday August 28, 2023 4pm to 8pm at Rose Funeral Home & cremation Services. Where funeral service will be held Tuesday 11am.
