Age 87, died on August 31, 2018, peacefully at her home in Squirrel Hill. Loving wife of 65 years of Edward; mother of Audrey Sussna and Ellen (David) Heyman; and proud grandmother of Andrea Heyman (Will Hall) and Ben Heyman (Courtney Paull). Sylvia earned a PhD in Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Pittsburgh and worked at several universities and colleges in the Pittsburgh area. She also was proud of working for the National Council of Jewish Women. Sylvia and Edward traveled extensively and spent yearlong sabbaticals in Tehran and Paris. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, in support of Sylvia’s passion for reading.

n Loving Memory Anne Dolores Smith Curtis, age 89, passed peacefully in her home August 4, 2018 in the loving care of family and friends. Born and educated in Salt Lake City, UT where she studied piano with Frank Asper, organist of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, she raised her children, Conrad, Martha and Paul Curtis, in Michigan and spent her last years with Martha’s family in Pittsburgh. She is survived by her three children, their spouses and 10 grandchildren.
