Loretta D. Edwards
Loretta D. (Jackson) Edwards, age 83, of Pittsburgh (Penn Hills), peacefully transitioned into eternal rest after a long illness on May 7, 2024. Born May 24, 1940, to the late John Jackson and the late Mary (Pendleton) Jackson, she is survived by her beloved children Otis T. Edwards and Brian K. Edwards of Las Vegas, NV and Dawn D. Edwards and Michelle L. Edwards of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by her beloved sister Mildred L. Connors of Pittsburgh, PA and Aurora, IL. Loretta was the doting grandmother of Jahnai Edwards, Jeremy Edwards, Alexis Edwards, and Jordan Edwards-Major and eight great-grandchildren. She also had three brothers, the late Harold, Carl, and Clarence Jackson and is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. After graduating from Fifth Avenue High School, she went to nursing school, married and started a family. She worked as a bank teller for much of her life. She was passionate about spending time with her family and enjoyed shopping, crafting, and playing board and card games. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the ROSE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 10940 Frankstown Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15235 with the funeral service to immediately follow from 1 – 2 p.m.
Aunt Loretta, I know God knows best yet my selfishness got the best of me and I felt numb when I was told You had went on to be with Your Father. You will truly be missed and I will keep You close in my heart forever. I’ll remember the Love and Joy we shared. I LOVE AND MISS YOU AUNT RHETT????????????
