On April 27, 1936, Greely Lomax Rue was born to Mack and Tessie Rue. He departed this temporal life in preference to life eternal on April 19, 2026.
His family moved to Pittsburgh, Pa. from Georgiana, Alabama, when he was sixteen. Greely graduated from Schenley High School night school. He retired from Port Authority Transit after 28 years of service. He received many Accommodations from
the many passengers who rode on his buses. Greely enjoyed traveling, fishing, but mostly he enjoyed his family, especially the grandchildren.
On Feb. 23, 1987 was united in Holy Wedlock to Helena (Peoples) Singletary.
A point of maturity was reached in Greely’s life when he professed a hope in Christ and united with the fellowship of Mount Ararat Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mack and Tessie Rue, a brother David Rue, (3) sisters, Etta Mae Rue, Maggie Mae Rue Davis, and Alma (Judy) Burst. (2) sons Ronald Rue and Greg Rue.
Greely is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Helena (Peoples) Singletary-Rue, They had 39 happy years together, (2) sons, Donald Rue, and Byron Rue of detroit, MI, (3) step-daughters, Tammy singletary og Hampton, VA., Angela Garrett of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Sheila Singletary of Pittsburgh, Pa. (3) step-sons Robert Singletary of Walton Hills, OH, Dr. Brian Singletary of Little Canada, MN, and Willie Singletary, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL.Daughter-in-law Aria Singletary of Walton Hills, OH., Son-in-law Ron Woodruff of Pittsburgh, Pa.,(4) brothers, James Rue of West Mifflin, Pa., Wadie Rue of Pittsburgh, Pa., Robert Rue of Pittsburgh, Pa., and William Rue of Pittsburgh, Pa. (3) sisters Orelia Rue of Monroeville, Pa.,Jean Rue of Monroeville, Pa.,and Dr. Valerie Harris of Chadds Ford, Pa., Brother-in-law William Harris of Chadds Ford, Pa. (2) sisters-in-law, Audrey Rue of Pittsburgh, Pa.,and Sheila Rue of west Mifflin, Pa.(13)step-grandchildren, (10) step-great-grand children and a host of nieces and nephews.
Greely dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great -grand children, and he was dearly loved in return.He will be truly missed.
