Dorothy D Livingston

Dorothy D. Livingston, affectionately known as Dottie, was born the first of three children to Marva Jeanne (Taliaferro) and Henry Livingston on May 12, 1968, in Pittsburgh, PA. On May 3, 2025, she went home to be with the Lord after complications from an illness. She attended Penn Hills Senior High School and graduated in 1986. Dottie had a passion for arts, which led her to major in Theater while attending the Community College of Allegheny County, followed by Point Park University. Due to a disability discovered during college, Dottie had a limited work history. Nevertheless, she led a life full of family, fun, and love. Dottie’s affinity for the arts was reflected in her fondness for television, music, and concerts. She enjoyed watching her soap operas, Golden Girls, MASH, and Svengoolie. She could give you a complete update on her shows at any given time. She loved listening to her favorite musician, Prince, and had the time of her life when she got to see him in concert in 1989. The last concert she attended was in 2018 to see Parliament-Funkadelic, and once again, she had a blast! However, fun aside, the greatest moment in Dottie’s life happened in 1994 when she welcomed her only child, Queonia Precious Livingston, into the world. In fact, her first thoughts of the day centered around her daughter even years later as Queonia journeyed into young adulthood. Dottie will be remembered for a lot of things: her kindness to everyone, her nicknames for her sisters (Rooney & Hunchy), her unending love for her family, her taste for hamburgers, her jolliness, and most of all, her devotion to God! Her greatest joy was reading the Bible and praising the Lord for all that He has done in her life. What we will miss the most are her humor and presence at holiday gatherings. She loved to laugh and was a great listener. Dottie was preceded in death by her mother, Marva Jeanne Livingston; Paternal grandparents Lillie and Dewey Livingston, Maternal grandparents Dorothy and Blair Taliaferro; Uncles Dewey Livingston, Jr., David Livingston, James (Jimmy) Bush, and Don A. Bush; and Aunt Cynthia Livingston. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Queonia Livingston, father, Henry Livingston; Sisters, Carmen & Tasha Livingston; Aunts, Jackie Livingston-Gardner (Bertram), Patricia Livingston, and Patricia “Patsy” Betts (Benjamin “Sonny”), Uncle Cecil Taliaferro, and a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones. Friends received Monday, May 12, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm at Rose Funeral Home & Cremation Services 10940 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh PA 15235, where service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Noon.
