April Charvette Baynes, proud mother of five children Lamare, DeShawn, Brandon, Amond and April, a life long resident of Pittsburgh, PA, departed this life peacefully October 2 at age 62.  She was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Charolette Pearson, her aunt Tina (Anthony Brown), her nephew Anthony Brow Jr and Brother Nathaniel Pearson.

April was born on April 4, 1964 to the late Charolette and Nathaniel Pearson.  She received her diploma from Job Core in 1978.  April attended school at Bidwell Training Center for Culinary Arts.  She was employed at Barista Café, Foodland, Bob Evans and the Wyndham Hotel. All of these places afforded her to shape her culinary skills.

April was an outstanding cook.  She will be remembered for her chicken salad, upi know the one with grapes in it and her melt in your mouth peanut butter cookies.  These food items were considered by many to be comfort food.  She enjoyed cooking and found it to be very therapeutic.  She valued and dearly loved her family and grandchildren.

April accepted Christ early in life and became a member of Showers of Blessing Ministries in Penn Hills, PA.  She exhibited a deep love for Christ.  She attended weekly bible study, Women of Purpose women’s ministry and played a strategic part of the Pastor’s Aide Committee.  She often demonstrated her culinary skills in the preparation of meals and desserts for church and Pastoeal anniversaries.

April was the devoted mother of Lamare and Deshawn Pearson.  She was married to her first husband Arnold Jerome Baynes in 1999 and from that Union came Brandon, Armond, and April Baynes.  She married her second husband Charles Simmons in 2020.

April leaves to cherish her memory her husband Chrles Simmons, Siblings Bonnie Murray, Angela Bay, Vernon Bay, Roxanne Pearson, her children Lamare Pearson, DeShawn Pearson, Brandon Baynes, Armond Baynes and April Baynes, grandchildren Christian Pearson, Niko Pearson, Tru Owens, Tyquale Owens, DeShawn Pearson Jr, Amari Baynes, god daughter Rea and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  She will be deeply missed by all who Knew and loved her.
